9 Dot Software Solutions are pleased to announce the release of Dot RTD, a complete solution for logistics companies who need to manage workers who fall under the Road Transport Directive or Working Time Directive.

We are making this commercial quality software available completely free of charge – no catches – no tricks just high quality free software.

This product will be continually developed and will reflect any changes in legislation – we also welcome feedback and requests for improvements and additional features. When you download the software we ask for your name, company name, and email address – this is purely to allow us to notify you when there is an update available. We will not use your email address for any other purpose or pass it on to third parties.

Dot RTD consists of several key elements

Driver Database

This is where you record details of your driver, this is a very comprehensive database that if required could be used as a HR manager. As well as the basic contact info and license info, you can record skills, training, HR info even storing documents and pictures against each driver. Set up flags to monitor license inspection frequency, driving convictions etc.

You can set up multiple depots or departments and allocate a driver to a specific depot or department / contract. This is useful for reporting and also for handling statutory days in England and Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland as there are different statutory days in each country.

Driver Holiday Manager

As driver’s holidays count towards weekly averages in the Road Transport Directive we have included a very useful holiday planner.

You set each drivers holiday entitlement in the Driver records screen and then use the holiday booking screen to book their holidays.

You then have a handy resource planner that is available to all members of the transport office showing driver availability.

As well as onscreen reports you can print out a holiday summary for a driver who wants to see how many days he has left and reports for payroll to show all driver holidays for a selected period.

Driver Absence Manager

As you also need to record driver absence as part of the Road Transport Directive we have included a driver absence monitor.

As a worker phones in to report an absence you can use this tool to record the details and optionally give the worker a reference number to prove they have called in. You can also do the same when they call in to resume work – again optionally.

It is good practice to perform return to work interviews and so we have built in an optional nag feature to prompt you to conduct the interview.

A number of reports allowing you to examine patterns and frequency of absence are available.

RTD record entry

This screen has been designed to make record entry as quick and easy as possible – holidays are automatically entered from the holiday planner as are statutory holidays – if a worker works a statutory holiday then a day in lieu can be added to the workers holiday entitlement (optional)

Simply enter start time, finish time, breaks and POA (Periods of availability) and the applicable working time will be added to the weekly average.

RTD reporting

As you would expect from a comprehensive solution, there is a very detailed reporting suite available. Click here for some sample reports.

Infringements are flagged immediately and can also be configured as email alerts.

You can export all reports in popular formats such as Excel, Word or PDF.

Dot RTD can be installed on a single PC or as a client server solution allowing multi user, multi depot access.
